Meeting Minutes

Hello Everyone,

Have you ever wondered what winning means to you? Today we have amazing meeting with the theme “Be a Winner”.

It was good to see many members and guests come earlier today and engage in friendly conversation. As we still have roles available, we tried to give our guests who did not have a role yet the opportunity to take a role before the meeting starts at 10:00 KST.

The meeting was opened by the club president and our Toastmaster of the Day, Azizah British. As usual, she brings her positive energy and leads the meeting sessions smoothly.

Jeffrey Teh, one of our guests, took on the challenge of giving an educational speech in 3-5 minutes. The title was "When there is a will, there is a way." He talked about the importance of being the best version of ourselves and proud of our identity.

Dian as the General Evaluator (GE) invited her team to introduce their role and share what winning means to them. We heard a lot of different definitions of winning here. such as achieving something greater, never giving up, enjoying the process, an indescribable feeling, losing to win more, and so on.

The first session was led by Table topic master, Fikui. She led the meeting smoothly with various questions that sparks the enthusiasm and curiosity of our guests and members. We have 5 table topic speakers. They are Adarsh Chandran, Alfin Abrar, Heru, Lim Ah Nee and Noor Mohammad, DTM.

We gain a lot of insightful messages from all the table topic speakers through their responses, which can help us view "winning" from a new perspective. It's not only about winning to be at the top or to get the trophy. But also, 'winning' to prioritize what matters most in our lives—relationships, business, etc.

We have two prepared speeches today. The first speaker, Mabel, shared her story of facing adversity. It’s important to be a good listener, and it's okay to give up when you find situations that do not fit your values. The second speaker, Shwe Sin, shared her personal story of how to build a connection with someone new genuinely and authentically.

Mabel was evaluated by Noor Mohammad DTM, and Shwe Sin was evaluated by Adarsh Chandran. Both evaluators provide constructive feedback for the speakers.

In the last session, we received a constructive report from the general evaluator, Dian, and her team. The GE teams today are Sophie as grammarian, Adam Chen as ah-counter, Arnie as timer, and Boram as ballot counter. Unfortunately, Adam couldn't join the meeting until the end. He left the meeting earlier after he shared his report with Azizah.

Today we have a total of 17 attendees. There were 4 TSL members, 2 prepared speech speakers, 1 educational speaker, 2 evaluators, and 5 table topic speakers.

The guests who attended our meeting today were: Jeffrey Teh, Lim Ah Nee, Julie Nguyen, Heru Supriyanto, Alfin Abrar, and Soumitra.
