Meeting Minutes

Hi Everyone,

Are you the one who feels excited about our meeting or can’t wait to enjoy The Speaker’s Lounge Toastmasters Club (TSL) every Saturday? If the answer is yes, means you and me are one of a kind.

We are always excited to hold the meeting and meet up with members and guests from this whole universe. Therefore, please do allow me to share the recap of our meeting on this fabulous Saturday.

As usual DTM JJ welcomed all the members and guests, and we had our small talk and discussion before we started the meeting while we kept welcoming the members and guests who were joining the meeting.

One thing that might make TSL different from other club meetings is that we have the theme question that will be answered by all those who speak on the podium.

The meeting was opened by our Club President, Azizah. As we have launched the new TSL Website therefore we tried something new in this meeting. What makes this meeting a bit different than usual was The Club President presenting and giving a brief explanation about what is Toastmasters International and The Speaker’s Lounge (TSL) Toastmasters Club while using our new TSL Website, and of course we also had the opportunity to take a look at the benefits what we can share with members and the guests using this website as it provides a direct link to Toastmasters International website where our members and the guests can find more information about Toastmasters International.

And as expected there was good feedback from the audience while we really enjoyed, and are grateful for our new website. Loved it.

The meeting continued after checking the role takers, the Club President welcomed Toastmaster of the Meeting, our own DTM Oppa JJ, and he shared his point of view regarding the theme “Puzzles of Life” from his perspective and he explained the meeting’s program. He introduced our GE - TM Fridolin and reminded the GE and evaluation team to answer the theme question: “Share fun fact about yourselves” while sharing their role to the audience.

“Table Topics Session” (1st session)

After the introduction of the evaluation team, we started our first session. In this session we are always excited and indeed turned out to be really interesting as almost everyone who’s not taking role and the guests tried out this session. It was fabulous. All of our amazing table topics speakers share their unique personality with their answers, while Reynaldo as our Table Topics master, presented so many interesting theme related questions. The session ended with the questions to our Toastmaster of the Meeting, DTM JJ.

“Prepared Speeches Session” (2nd session)

We had 2 amazing Speakers:

Adarsh Chandran who delivered his speech with title “Mr. Prefect”. The project was "Introduction to Vocal Variety & Body Language" from Pathways Leadership Development level 1. While we were enjoying his speech unfortunately it stopped because of sudden electricity failure at his house, therefore was unable to continue his speech. His speech stopped at 4:31 Seconds. Nevertheless, Adarsh is a sport even though his speech stopped mid-time, he was able to inspire the audience.

Our second speaker was Azizah British. She delivered her speech with title: “TSL Website”. The Speech was her 2nd speech of her DTM project for 8-10 mins. In her speech she shared several aspects of her leading role, the projects updates and her experiences as a leader. She also shared the challenges and how the team was able to tackle them. In her speech she also mentioned about congratulating the newly appointed Club Secretary, Dian Halleyuisari via an announcement on TSL Website.

Both speakers shared their stories and inspiration. And it is always amazing to listen to our speakers in our meeting as they bring different perspectives

"Evaluation Session" (3rd Session)

The evaluations were spot on as constructive feedback was given to the speakers. The role players in the evaluation team presented accurate and informative reports which definitely will help the future club meetings to inch towards excellence.

"Hall of Fame"

The winners for this Saturday October 15th, 2022, are mentioned above. Congratulations to all the winners and remember all of you are already a winner in TSL’s heart as you did come out of your comfort zone and competed.
